Interaction Time! Why do you blog about what you blog about?

So I'm following about 150-200 people on a semi regular basis.  By semi regular, it means there are a lot of you I read daily, but all of you I read at least once/twice a week.

I love the broad subject matter.

I have blogs that make me laugh on a regular basis, like Colorful Rants of a Fed Up Sista, Rose and Crayons,  and Sara's Organized Chaos.  I read these, and they always get me laughing on a regular basis.

I have a few paranormal blogs I follow, but the best of the best is Ghost Hunting Theories.  Always detailed, always insightful, and always makes you think.  Even when it keeps you up at night once in a while...

I follow a few tech blogs (like Come At Me Bro), photography blogs (like Adam Badge Photography), some brewing/bar blogs (Bar Science, for example) and some truly unique blogs that must be seen to be appreciated.  (Like this one.  Surprise, I didn't say the name!)

What I see more than any other genre, though, are music blogs and video game blogs.

Now don't get me wrong, there are a few of them that are damn good, and I interact with them on a regular basis.

But some are just cookie-cutter blogs that seem to be run by the same minds.  The 'hivemind blogs' are numerous, and just seem to frustrate me to no end.

When 4 bloggers link the same Deadmau5 vid that has been out for over a year, it grinds my gears....

When they have ALMOST THE EXACT REVIEW, word for word, I usually unfollow one or two of them in a mini-rage...

I still like the music, and I love hearing about new things coming out, or the best of the best, but I love originality too.

Keep it fresh, guys and gals!

So here is the interaction time:  Tell me (and the world) what you blog about, and why you picked the topic you're discussing!  I'd love to hear the methods behind the madness!!!
Please Share it! :)

Haha. That was a great post! I looked at my dashboard and realized, I'm all over the place too. Some of them, I'm not sure how I ended up following??? You can relate to why I blog about ghost hunting--I live in a backwards conservative state and finding "my tribe" was not easy. I wanted to talk about theories and ideas in the world of paranormal since I'm a hunter, but no one here talks about "dark" subjects, so I took it to a bigger audience and found out there's a bunch of "me's" out there in the world who question everything and love all things horror. I found my tribe. Oh, and thanks for being a member of the tribe, buddy!

For my first blogg http://reflectionsinawavepool.blogspot.com/
I started it because I have no one up here at my school, so it was my way to connect to people. I wanted a place I could rant, talk about feelings, and make jokes all in one place!

My second blogg
http://wordsandwhims22.blogspot.com/
I started because I love writing. So it was a place where I could share my writing with friends and with strangers. :)

dude don't forget about my anime blog! I do it because it's one of my hobbies, and I want more people to like it (you don't see many anime blogs out there do you?). Sometimes I feel lonely since I have no one to talk about it with.

I blog at, holeinthewallgames.blogspot.com, about video games because that's where the majority of my free time goes to. It's one of the things I know the most about and have been playing for years. I'm hoping I'm not one of the cookie cutter blogs you're talking about, I always write my own crap, but let's face it, everyone gets their gaming news from the same sources. However, I do try and put my own personal spin and opinions and experiences.

Welp, I have a music blog, and the reason I made it is because I think peoples ears are becoming too narrow minded. I don't consider my posts to be reviews, but more so a personal opinion. I couldn't rate my opinions. The object for me is to show how I personally think so that others can maybe accept something foreign to their ears, or maybe hear about something not so foreign that they just don't know about. It pleases me.

But then I also really dislike that I'm jumbled together with most other music blogs who either don't have anything to say or as you stated, all review the same damn thing. It motivates me to keep things different, if only just slightly.

I blog about just about anything that pops into my head, or I post pictures that I think some people might find slightly interesting. I go by the number of comments a post gets. If it gets people talking, I'll do something like it in the future; but if it largely gets glossed over, I won't mention it again. So, that being said, I blog about things that cross my path, but these things must be deemed interesting to other people before I press send on the email!

I blog about whatever I feel like at the time. Which mostly consists of posting drawings, pictures of delishus food porn, and music.

My girlfriend runs a review blog, that I post movie reviews on. It's just starting out, but eventually she's going to be reviewing various stuff like makeup, skin care, and other stuffs.

As for why, I post my drawings so I can track my progress and share my artistic genius with the world(not really). I also do the food, movies, and music stuff so I can fill the voids in my blog with stuff so my followers don't all unsubscribe due to boredom.

I, personally, have no topic at my blog, just random chaotic crap that happens on my ranch and in my family. And things that piss me off when I do leave said ranch. I tried for weeks to think of a theme that fit, or something that I could stick with and keep it interesting. But my life is far too chaotic for that.

I just started blogging not too ling ago and I haven't really focused on one topic yet. I think I may start to drift more towards beers. I love drinking good beers and talking about them. I';; probably have a new post about beer within the next couple days.

I completely agree that, when four bloggers post the same video, or any generic video at all, it makes me mad.

Posting a youtube link and saying "Lol! Watch this it made me lollll" is not content, it's crap.

But anyways, I started blogging as a sort of online diary, but now it's evolved into a bunch of life advice and such.

Keep up the good work!

I follow Bar Science, too. I'll have to check out these other blogs.

I love the variety of blogs out there too. The repetitious stuff is a bit annoying though. Then there are niche blogs, focused on one game or iphone games, do nothing for me.

I blog about astronomy. It is a long passion in my life. That is what my degree is in, and I am hoping to build a career out of my knowledge.

================

Everyone above this line, I promise you I follow you all on a regular basis. I make it a point to show extra attention to those who show it in me.

@Shutter... I ruv you! I promise! Your blog is one of my favorite games to play. And you're a badass macro photographer.

@D4, yours is one of the better music blogs. You're not on the 'bad' list. Your opinions, and injecting yourself into the reviews, is what I like to see. I'm not into "I like Dubstep. Here's a song." blogs. I like originality and flavor. You provide both.

@The rest... if I didn't mention you, I'm sorry. I didn't want this post to simply turn into me being a link whore, so I picked and chose. Don't think it's not because I don't love you!

I have a music blog, but I try to be the best at what I have to work with all the time, partially from OCD. I try to find rare and varied stuff, and I think people like it judging from the comments. at least give some info if you are going to post a video.

I agree, I stop following blogs when they don't take any time. I have seen about 7 minecraft posts today... but its the rage right now so its more understandable.
