We're back now at the jackoff hour, this is DJ Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeazy Dick...

I had a mini-conversation with Choirchick22, and it got me thinking.

First, check out her blog at the link above.  Find her youtube, and melt when you hear her voice.  Do it nao!!!

Secondly, I am sad for Idaho.  There is NO Hip Hop radio station in all of Eastern Idaho.

So I have decided to start working toward owning a radio station, so I can inject this spud-culture with some 80's and 90's Old Skool Hip Hop and Rap.

I know NOTHING about being a DJ, or owning a business, but this is now a goal of mine.  I want make it happen.

Idahoans need some NWA in their daily lives.  Some Suga Free.  Some Eazy E.  Some Snoop, before he was collaborating with Katy Perry.

Disclaimer:  I am white.  But I have a good chunk of my iPod dedicated to Rap & Hip Hop, to go with Rock, Classical, Jazz, Swing (there is a difference), Techno/Electronic, Drum Corps Music (yes I was a band nerd) and much more.  Why?  It's how I was raised.

Go to Rubidoux, California on google maps.  Scroll down mission boulevard and tell me what you see.  That's where I grew up.  The white boy is out of the ghetto, but the ghetto is not out of the white boy.

Now, I'm not 'gangsta.'

I don't dress in 'bling.'

But I'm still from the motherfuckin west side, and I want to being some of me into this state.

Will it be a popular radio station?  Maybe.  But I don't care.  It's time to educate the masses.

Oh, and if you didn't understand the title of this blog, watch this video.

Please Share it! :)

You make it sound like being white and liking Hip hop and rap bad!

(Unless it's that new crap, I would throw that out the window)

First off thanks for the advertisement!! :)

Secondly I think that's a great idea! I've actually NEVER heard of a hip-hop only channel. It's all pop crap. I wish you could broadcast your radio station over here when you get it started. It would be better than pop/mormon music! I'm a small fan of rap/hip-hop. So I can definitely appreciate. :)

Man, there's "popular" music radio stations here, with new hip hop and pop and other things. I just gave up on listening to the radio... never considered making a radio station or anything. Hope you do it though!

I don't if they're ready for that, CA boy from the hood. You might cause an uprising like in Libya. Anderson Cooper might be at your doorstep of your radio station wanting to ask you some questions before the crowd burns down your crib. Good luck!

I was never a fan of hip-hop or rap until I heard some old school Snoop and some NWA. That stuff is just great whether or not you just hate the genre.

Being black, I actually get killer cool goosebumps when a white dude/chick digs on hip hop or rap...GOOD HIP HOP OR RAP, not that Money, bitches, hoes shit I've been hearing a lot lately! Or that garbage that demands that you do a certain stupid ass dance that LOOKS JUST LIKE THE SHIT THAT CAME OUT THE DAY BEFORE!

Trying to bring the people of Idaho some old school...GOOD MOVE! I love it!

Only with perseverance, dude... and some marketing of course.

Haha you really think there's a market for it there? You could do it, but you could also just listen to internet radio. It seems they've got a radio station for EVERYTHING here in LA.

80s hip hop and rap was the only good hip hop and rap. (I'm white too, not quite ghetto, but grew up on Navy bases)

Oldschool rap and hip hop are awesome. Start that radio station dude. People need to know that what is now being sold as hip hop and rap is autotuned bs.

Follow your dreams man, don't let the fact that your white and have no radio experience hold you back, that's what schools are for. If I were you I would start with internet radio to build up advertising and a fanbase and then try to go to the real thing.

Good luck man!

The good news is I have a big marketing background, and have helped a lot of small independent businesses in the past. And yeah Eric, I was thinking about modeling after KDAY. I still stream them online...

You have not a single hip hop station in all of Idaho? Thats' hard to believe...

Dude..I don't even know you but I like you. That's my jam. Old school hip hop (minus Easy E because he was whack) is my fav. I say you need to follow your dreams. Make Idaho proud. Good luck.

Admittedly I hate (most) rap but hip hop i can find a lot more to like

JWtechparts said...

im a fan of some of the old school stuff myself. however my repertoire is basically limited to the sound track of Thrasher: skate and destroy.

YES! Righteous cause. Will be very difficult, but you could do some streaming thing on the internet, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of an eastern-Idaho station.. :|

I've wanted to start my own radio stations... seems like a lot of work though you'd have to be really devoted.

Wait. You're white? You can barely tell from your picture.

Umm - hellz yeah! That's when hip hop was good.
I think I wore out my Rap Traxx cassette tapes.. 1, 2, AND 3. Anything after 3 was too 'modern'.
It lost it's edge.
