Christmas Music and Tard the Grumpycat

It's November 28th... not even December, and 5 radio stations in town are already blaring non-stop Christmas music.

(I can only listen to Elvis sing 'Blue Christmas' so many times, and I've already reached my quota.)

Stores are decked out, and have been for months.

I'm just now getting ready to be festive, but I've had 'the holiday season' shoved down my throat for so long already, I'm already getting grinchy.

Oh wait, the Grinch is so 20th century... so outdated.

Now, it's all about expressing yourself with internet memes.

My favorite for 'the most wonderful time of the year' is Tard, also known as 'grumpycat.'

Tard naturally looks like he's pissed off, and has recently become an internet sensation.  I took this template I found online and made a few Christmas-related rants.  Enjoy!

Cruelty Shouldn't Be This Funny

I am sure many of you have seen variations of this video:

This infamous video captured at UC Davis showed police officers using excessive force to break up a peaceful protest with Pepper Spray.  The debate goes on whether or not the use of the pepper spray was justified, but the internet has spoken.

Humane or not, it HAD to be turned into a meme...

It's ok, pepper spray cop, I think #Tebowing is silly too.

It's only a shame this had to happen in November.  Come next Halloween, this would have made an awesome costume.  Sadly, this guy will be all but forgotten by then...

Sunday Silliness: Ponies. Ponies Everywhere (Know Your Meme 101 - Bronies Edition)

I love the internet.  And when a new meme comes out, I can't wait to incorporate it into my normal net-mongering.

However, I'm still a little confused by this one.

Ponies.

A new My Little Pony cartoon launched last year, and a slew of Bronies have taken the cartoon and tainted it with the awesomeness of the interwebz.

I watched a few episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, to see if I could understand the phenomenon.  While mildly entertaining, I don't know if it warrants popularity for the 20-30 male demographic.

But who am I to argue?

I was overwhelmed with rainbows and cute.  There was a lot of quirky humor infused into the cartoon, but come on.

I'm a child of the 80's, and my little ponies were for girls.

I guess the ponies of the 21st century are more for everyone?

I did enjoy the fact there were girly ponies, androgynous ponies, and a couple 'butch' ponies, even though all were female.  It's not just about fitting into a predetermined box.  Ponies come in all colors, sizes, and orientations.

Even though I have yet to see some hot, steamy 'pony on pony' action, I have a feeling Applejack and Rainbow Dash are getting it on.  They look TOTALLY into each other...

...am I being sucked in?
