Heads Up Seven Up. Seven kids stand up. The lights go off, heads go down. No peeking now... the seven 'it' kids touch seven other kids (one each), then the touched ones have to guess who did it...
Let me recap that one more time. "Ok kids, cover your face and close your eyes. Someone's gonna touch you, and when they're done, you have to guess who it was..."
Sound dirty? I thought so too.
I was on someone's blog and made a comment about kids games, and it made me think a little deeper about this game. I played it as a kid, and it's essentially an innocent game. Yet... the synopsis could be taken a wrong way...
...get in. |
Uncle creepy asking to play a game when it's just you and him? Probably unsafe...
However, the collegiate version of this game could be fun. Think of it like beer pong. If you guess wrong, you drink or take off an article of clothing. However, it's going to have to be 7 guys versus 7 girls, or any even ratio. (2v2, 4v4, etc)
Needless to say, in this grown up version the goal is to get everyone wasted and as close to naked as possible.
In short, Heads Up Seven Up is ok in the classroom. It's ok at a college or swingers' party. But in any other scenario, it's going to lead to a session with this doll.
Can you point to where he touched you, Timmy? |
13 witty retorts:
Wow, I can't believe I never thought of it this way. "Who in my class is most likely to touch me?"
It was always the creepy girl with snot in her nose who had a crush on me. Always. Without fail. I would just hope that that scenario wouldn't carry over to the collegiate version.
I'm so glad I read this post. You made me giggle until my cheeks hurt. You really did!
Haha. We used to call it 'heads down, thumbs up.' Either way..looking back, it does seem a little odd. I hope it wasn't an adult that invented the game for children...
You've got me thinking of games we played at school! Wink murder comes to mind. In fact, I might have to call some friends over and have a game. Haha. You've got me feeling nostalgic!
GM x
Used to play that damn game and I always used to cheat by looking at their shoes. lol.
And then the world opened its eyes.. Haha cool new take on a really old game.
Still less nefarious than "Smear the Queer" which is what the Westboro Baptist Church plays at Thanksgiving.
Has anyone played Heads up 7-up without peeking?
I remember Smear the Queer. Such a confusing game. Whomever had the football was a queer, and everyone else had to tackle them?
Then in High School, calling any football player a queer would get you murdered...
What an odd name for an odd game...
i remember playing heads up, 7 up as a kid and it was fun!
i think i played this game in school. it was easy. it was always the cute blondes touching me
I like the college version...as long as it was a mostly female party lol
I've never heard of this game. Is this a Cali thing? Sounds like it could have been fun in college. Where were you 20 years ago? Oh, in middle school playing this game.
Rainy Day games, because sometimes it's just too much weather to go outside. Hangman always a favorite, but as we got older we played Hide in the Dark that one can get a bit out of hand with adults and crushs haha. What were YOU doing in the dark ;)
Why is that doll wearing purple shoes? And SMILING? And what is the message that's supposed to convey to a victim?
"That's where he touched you? Well, that looks like fun!"
