Maybe I'm coming down with something?
I'm currently in Missoula Montana. In nearby Clinton, a yearly event is held every summer called the "Testicle Festival." Testy Festy 2012 is about drinking, dancing, debauchery, and of course, balls.
Looking at their website, I found a lot of college students from nearby Montana University at the shindig. Maybe this is why the wet t-shirt contests are so popular?
Needless to say, this fest is adults only. You need to be 21 or over to enter the grounds...
Testicles, often known as 'Rocky Mountain Oysters' seem to be a Montana delicacy, because I see it on a lot of menus when I travel in Big Sky Country. They are often fried, and are rumored to increase virility and stamina...
...as exotic as it sounds and as adventurous as I am, I don't think you'll ever find me sampling this fried, um, 'delight.'
But that may not keep me from Testy Festy...
This year's fest is August 1st thru 5th. Admission is only $16, and from what I gather, they serve other foods here.
...I'd still shy away from any signs saying "Chicken Nuggets" though... wait... do roosters have low-hangers?
If you were in the area, would you go? Would you endure the bad country music, rednecks galore, and balls-a-plenty to see scores of this:
How YOU doin??? |
Fuck No! And I don't plan to either.
ReplyDeleteOh hell yeah, that is prime time blog material at that festival!!!!!! Think of all the pictures and interviews you would get. DAMN, I'm thinking documentary now. Just so happens my calendar is clear on those dates and I do have an adventerous palate.
ReplyDeleteI have eaten them. They aren't anything especially bad or good. Very weird texture though.
ReplyDeleteThat's just nasty! That chic has some nice effn boots though. Have fun with that and def may want to steer clear of those "chicken nuggets" lolz.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to pass on the animal balls. I'm not THAT kind of girl...
ReplyDeleteA little disappointed and in admiration of you for not taking the low road...I on the other hand would like to submit alternate titles: Testi-Town, Tea Bag Carnival, Man Bag Merriment, Fun Bag Fiesta, The Low-Hang Lowdown, and/or Ballsiest Post Ever.
ReplyDeleteI'd give try 'em. Why not? If you're not a vegan, you've definitely eaten parts more disturbing than balls. Exhibit A: Rump roast. You'll eat ass but not bollocks? It's a psychology experiment.
I am game for most things, so I would probably go and give them balls a try.
ReplyDeleteI think the prep makes all the difference. Once I tried and LOVED tongue, I decided pretty much anything can be prepared in a way that is tasty.
ReplyDeleteSo yeah, why the hell not.
And that girl, she's hawt. So if there are those types of folks wondering about, count me in.
I'd totally go. But I can't. So you go, bring pictures. :D
ReplyDeleteWell, I have tried a lot of food. But not sure I could ever condone eating balls or umm penises of any animals.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes I would...might have to add this to my list of world festivals I have to get to...along with the Redneck Games
ReplyDeleteI've had some pretty exotic foods, but never testicles. That is where I wave my vegetarian card with the fury of Napoleon at Waterloo.
ReplyDeleteAh, Rocky Mountain Oysters. I really like them! I first had them when I was young enough to not really know what the big deal was. If you go to Testy Festy, try one.
ReplyDeleteIf, for some reason, I was there I definitely wouldn't go... Not my scene!
ReplyDeleteI don't even think about trying that "delicacy", but I can tell you that in my country (Argentina)there are some very famous and fashionable restaurants in which they sell balls as the most expensive dish...The curious thing would be to know whose balls they're cooking
Yes! I have dined on a bucket of balls and they were deee-licious!!!
ReplyDeleteThen someone told me what they were.
And they were still delicious!!!
Now I'm craving balls. Erm, don't tell the hubs I said that. :)
I was in Montana few months back but didn't try anything that wasn't prepackaged. I play it safe...
ReplyDeleteDAMMIT!
ReplyDeleteWhat movie am I thinking of now? That's going to annoy me to all shit!
Also... how YOU doin'... indeed. Nice fishnets. Ahem.
...Spaceballs?
ReplyDeleteBecause BALLS
I don't think this will ever find its way on to my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteNah, that's not happening. I have no desire to even try these things. I'd also be afraid to try the chick with the Keystone Light. Are you freakin' kidding me? Keystone Light? I didn't even know they still made that beer. I thought it was like Pabst Blue Ribbon or something and was impossible to find.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. It depends what you mean by sampled.
ReplyDeleteYep, during a trip to Colorado I went to a place famous for them and had them, rattlesnake, and something else generally considered nasty by intelligent people. They all tasted like "fried."
ReplyDeleteI'm a texture girl, I don't know how these would play out in that regard and I'm fine with continuing to just wonder. There are some questions better left not answered in my opinion. It's all you, buddy!
ReplyDeleteI hear stroganuts are good,
