I am a salesman. But more than that, I like to think of myself as a business builder.
I help independent business compete with big box chains on a daily basis.
To some, I show this video. Some get it, some don't.
Do you?
How do YOU feel about shoddy customer service?
It would be the difference between me buying and walking out the door and buying elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI dont always know every little thing about something I am selling but I sure as heck try to find out if a customer asks. And then I also know for next time
I don't even bother asking for any help. It's just a waste of time for me, I know what I need and I'll get it myself, unless it's in the back then your underpaid ass an get it for me.
ReplyDeleteLOL that's a great commercial
ReplyDeleteplus i love newegg
Sadly, I've become accustomed to it. In fact, I'm surprised a person making slightly above minimum wage is even awake.
ReplyDeleteAs you illustrate, it's the difference between a big box and the independent. When you can see the results of the sale, it gives a person a better sense of pride and makes them feel like they made a difference, and thus, they work harder and make more because of the pride they feel.
Depressingly, these independents are harder to find.
Lament.
I feel really old because I remember the days when customer service was taken seriously. Of course, nowadays about 90% of customer service is overseas on telephones that one has to be routed around for 45 minutes to speak to someone who has to reroute you.
ReplyDeleteI have no patience for some snotty nosed kid who doesn't know a hill-of-beans about what they are selling!
ReplyDeleteI'm used to crappy service. Especially from kids, the ones today know nothing and have never learned to work. Man, I sound old.
ReplyDeleteI am dealing with crappy customer service at the moment grrrrrr. Made all the harder because this is a web based business!!!
ReplyDeleteI get it. How does anyone not get it? :|
ReplyDeleteYeah, that sucked but HEY! Upside. He spoke English! Or is that only an issue in Utah?
