My girlfriend had a bad migraine last night (she lives with me, can you blame her?) so we spent some time at the local urgent care center.
While filling out forms, I peered onto the receptionist's desk, and saw this business card for a snowplow service:
Now, I'm from SoCal. Down there, "Two Guy's Plowing" means something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT...
But it's not the only business in town that has a taboo second-meaning.
For example, there's a hair salon called "Denise's Bush - Haircare." What hair are you caring for, Denise??
There's a furniture shop in a nearby town called "Romaine's Sofa King." I'm sure their prices are 'sofa king' low...
What funny-named businesses are in YOUR area? Feel free to share...
What does "Two Guys Plowing" mean? I've never even heard of it.
ReplyDelete@Shutterbug: Um... google it. On the images area. With the 'safe search' turned off. Then you'll understand... >.>
ReplyDeleteThis was a Sofa King Good post
ReplyDeleteYour poor girlfriend. I suffer from migraines too; they're the pits.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of any unfortunate business names here, but I do know that if you want to apply for a job at Blackberry the website you have to visit is rim.jobs.
So. You know. If the Two Guys Plowing ever want to move up in the world a little.
I can only think of "Curl Up and Dye" and that was in a movie. I am with you, Cali boy, I'm from Phoenix and we think of "Two Guys Plowing" the same as you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we have a funny place around my house, though the ones you posted are hilarious!
ReplyDeleteUm.....Google it, funny but nothing comes to mind around here.
ReplyDeleteI used to work in the Pet Industry. In Southern Cali, there is a groomer called "Doggy Styles" and a Pet Store called "Heavy Petting." Loved them both... :D
ReplyDeleteLol. Google images with safe search off. You meanie. I teehee'd though.
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of a ATHF episode when they try to raise ultra mega chicken
ReplyDeleteLol, two guys plowing... wow...
ReplyDeletedunno about business names, but there are some great unintentionally funny website domains:
ReplyDeletewww.accesstherapist.com
although why you would want access to the rapist i don't know...
www.dollarsexchange.com
wow, that sounds like a bargain if you're a bit confused...
www.oddsextractor.com
for perverted farmers no doubt...
www.penisland.net
where all the happy penises go...
Hahaha, I love cleverly named businesses (even if they are dated, tacky, etc). There's a towing company I saw a few weeks ago I saw called "Tow Jam." I thought that was kind of funny.
ReplyDeleteHope your girlfriend is feeling better!
I loled
ReplyDeleteI'm witty. I'm a retort. And I lol'd.
ReplyDeleteWe had a strip mall that for years had a sign for a new restaurant next to where a hair place had been. They took don part of the sign, but not all of it, so for years it read, "BJ's Deli Hair." (I'll have that with pickles to-go please)
ReplyDeletei know a lot of stupid business names but they are in croatian and its hard to translate :( to bad
ReplyDeleteThat commercial was sofa king funny!
ReplyDeleteThere's a Vietnamese market 3 minutes from my house called My Hoa
ReplyDelete....... that's about all that comes to mind
HAHA, dirty jokes. I can't think of any off hand around here though.
ReplyDeletewhy is it that we don't get QUALITY commercials like this one here? it would at least give me a reason to turn on my TV lol.
ReplyDeleteI have nothing to do but laugh. I love random business names.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin recommended this blog and she was totally right keep up the fantastic work!
ReplyDeletesofa king is da best
ReplyDeleteWe have a Bar & Grill in the area called Hummers. It even as two big red lipsticked lips beneath the big white sign by the road. It's like they're advertising head job service. Sadly, they are servicing men in this way. :(
ReplyDeleteI live inS outhern Florida. (WPB area)A year or so ago, we had a "Gentleman's Club" called Sofa Kings. Their decor was sofas, etc. Staff dressed as Cheerleaders, etc. Their radio advertising was hilarious just because of the way the announcer said Sofa King and in the different contexts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post!
LOL! Yeah, "Two Guys Plowing" sounds like a porno from someone in the South. That would bring about some serious laughter around my part of the country.
