Week in Review

Ho-lee-fudge people.

This has definitely been a rollercoaster week of ups and downs.  I'll try to make this brief, because I have an ANIMAL demanding my attention.

(Gah, puppies.  Who know?  Oh yeah.  Everyone.)

Girlfriend has been on-and-off icky feeling all week, so our time together has been 'meh' at best.  Hoping this weekend is different.

Work has been productive at some points, teeth-pulling during other times.  I have my first major presentation to a hospital forum in a few weeks, and preparation for this event is just plain fun.  Not.

Looking for some side-work, to get a little extra income going.  A local radio station is looking for freelance graphic design, so I sent them my portfolio.  Hope something comes from it.

Thursday morning, I wake up to an email from adsense.  "We think your site has potential for fraud, so we're shutting you down as a precaution."  Wha-what?  I'm appealing, and hopefully I get reinstated, but this made me grumpy.  It's not like I'm making millions of dollars by having these ads on my site, but hey.  Beer money.  I like beer money...

Oh yeah, and I got a dog.  A very loving, energetic, "ooh, cats!  Let's play!" kind of dog.  A 'whine through the night because I'm in a crate and not in your bed' kind of dog.

He will get better.  I know.  But sheesh.

Friday is here, and I'm stoked.  Almost enough to sing Rebecca Black songs while eating cereal.

Almost.  Still not gonna happen.

Tonight I'm gonna shoot some pool with work friends, and I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend where I can recharge my batteries.

Without the bewbs.  You get the point.

Oh wait, I need to build a dog house.

...crud.

  4. Yeah, sounds familiar. One thing after another. Can't chores and duties coordinate? I want to see a picture of Miles's doggy house. I bet he never goes inside it. He's too eager to hopefully get someone throwing a frisbee for him.

  5. Miles will probably be like my dogs. We built (actually my hubby did) a dog house, they sniffed it and never went back inside even when it rained. They preferred to sit in front of the glass door with pitiful faces. Yes, we caved and let them in... sigh!

  8. Congrats on getting a dog, you'll have to put pics of it at some point. And I'm so glad it's friday, happy enough that I would sing the Rebecca Black song. :)

  10. Just as a warning, adsense is a complete scam. Look it up for yourself. Once you get close to cashing out or start making any form of money, they cancel your account without warning. I guarantee your appeal will come back with some generic form that says 'sorry your account can't be reopened.'

We weren't making a ton, but we got to a reasonable amount and literally on the VERY DAY we would have been sent a check our account got canceled for 'fraud' that they never explained and the money was all taken away. We appealed and they gave us no answer of why they even suspected fraud. Coincidence? Yeah, I don't think so.

Best of luck with the other stuff, anyway!

  11. A rotten run with the adsense. I wouldn't let it discourage you though, you still have one of the most entertaining blogs I've read. Otherwise, it sounds like you've been busy. Good luck with the graphic design thing. Those gigs can get pretty competitive, but the more work you do, the better you get at getting them. I had a girlfriend who started with band logos and worked her way up.

  12. I wish I could see that chick's boobs. I know what you mean about the ol' roller coaster week thing. That's the way it was for me last week. Good luck on the new job prospect. Have a great weekend.

  13. Here's hoping you get that well deserved rest, my friend! and I know what you mean about the constant need for more income sources. Being literally in the jungle with only an Internet connection to connect me to the 21st century, it's not like I can walk down the street and wait tables when I need some extra cash. Maybe we can put our heads together sometime and come up with something creative and funny to throw out into the Interwebz.

  14. If I ever find out that you sung that Rebecca Black song, I'll unfollow you.
