Politically Incorrect Teddy Bears!

Today's post is brought to you by BUILD A BEAR!  YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!

Yes, build a bear.  Where you can take your child/loved one, and spend $100 on a stuffed teddy bear that can be dressed as:

  • A Fireman
  • A Nurse
  • An Astronaut
  • A Mormon Missionary
  • A --
Wait... WHAT?

Yes, you heard right.
Exclusively at the Salt Lake City build-a-bear, you can get a Mormon Missionary outfit for your stuffed animal.  This includes the signature white shirt and tie, some STUNNING shorts, a name badge, and the Book of Mormon.

No, folks, this is not a joke.

Officially licensed Build-a-Bear merchandise, folks.
Sadly, this is not on the b-a-b website, and it's hard to find on eBay.  Why only SLC?  Well, people were requesting it, and SLC is the Mormon hub of the world.  So there we go.

I wonder if you can make a Build-a-Pope-Bear in Vatican City?

Or maybe Build-a-Buddha-Bear in Asia?

I'm not sure.  If you know of any other religious teddies, please post below (Looking for Jerusalem Jew-Bears with a yarmulke and the Torah...)

As you've probably gathered from previous blog posts, I'm not LDS.  But I WANT ONE OF THESE!  Why?  I mean, c'mon.  A Mormon missionary teddy bear in the middle of Mormonville?  This is priceless.

Elder-Bear wants to talk to you about Joseph Smith!

  2. Wow. Just wow. There is no end to what people will spend money on. I've been in there a lot with kids and to make those dumb ass bride/groom bears-there is no accounting for some people's taste-but had I seen that I probably would have walked out!

  3. lmbo ummm I had to point out the typo in the outfit description. So they wear white shit??
I am so sorry but this is just disturbing, WHY would anyone request a bear be dressed up to look like some of the most unlike people in America??

  8. That is hilarious? My city has more strip clubs than just about anywhere else on earth, I wonder if we all requested stripper bears if we could get pasties and a g-string with lucite heels to go with it?? I'm e-mailing the company now. I'll let you know what they say. I think it would be equally as appropriate, don't you love?

  9. So if you dress the bear up as a Mormon, will he pass out 'The Watchtower' at the DMV?

  26. My ex-boyfriend from when I was 14 went to B-a-B and bought me an ugly monkey with a red sports sweater for $75 for valentine's day. It was soooo not worth the money. I felt bad though and pretended to love it until he dumped me.

Do they happen to have a concert violinist bear? I'd spend blood money on that...

  27. Hahaha that's hilarious. I always see these guys in my neighborhood. I once asked them why all their prophets are white. They tried to tell me they weren't, but on closer inspection, they were in fact all white men. Interesting.

  36. We have Crack Ho Bear outfits at our store. We also have FudgePack Bear. He always seems to have brown stuff on his dingus. I can believe that about the Mormon Missionary bear in SLC. Maybe this company will eventually get around to promoting different bears for specific areas in a lot of the country. And oh, what a joyous day it will be!
