Also, I want to rant about my divorce. Yes, it was finalized a lil less than 2 years ago, but I'm still feeling the after-effects.
One of the last things we did as husband and wife was buy a home. We split, she got the home. No biggie.
Except my name stayed on it for WAY TOO LONG. She lagged on payments, and my score suffered as well.
Now that I'm thinking about buying my own home, I'm kind of stuck in a bind. I need to do some serious repair before I can get financed, so I'm grumbling a lot.
And the 1st time homebuyer tax break is coming to bite me in the butt. Her home, she got the credit, but now the tax man is asking me why I'm not paying back the credit.
Growl...
Oh yeah, and VOTE FOR ME!!! poll is on the post below.
Trust me, I know what your going through with financial woes.. I got ALOT of those buddy.. Hang in there and keep your stick on the ice..
ReplyDelete"smooth" ... shave that is. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat picture!
ReplyDeleteAnd that ordeal truly sucks! Divorce seems to be such an unfair practice on the male gender. You'd think being a female I wouldn't mind this, but that's not equality, therefore it disgusts me. =( I'm sorry.
TEchnically you can file an injured spouse which would remove your name from their ability to come after you for the money. If she got the house in the divorce all it takes is the paperwork stating that she retained full ownership of the home.
ReplyDeleteHmm a man shaving is always nice..
*Sucks* about the divorce and credit issue.
ReplyDeletehang in there.
Fabulous first HNT! I am impressed! I hope you keep playing along. ;-
ReplyDeleteAs for the rest, you surely deserve to grumble a bit. I hope you get it worked out soon!
Dam you vile woman
ReplyDeleteMoney, Economics, and Credit Scores Bite! In the old days you could have brought eggs to a guy for an old fashioned barn raising. Bartering with livestock would be much more fun then bartering over who gets what when and all the other fall out. Good luck, and thank goodness for sarcasm for venting.
ReplyDeleteHuge hairy mess. Just went through that and bugged my ex to death to let me sign off on the house and get my name off of it. What a relief. Here's hoping you get yourself extracted for that and ready to move on with your new life and all the exciting things to come in the wonderful state of Idaho (okay I probably spoke too soon about the exciting things to come, maybe the stable and mundane things to come).
ReplyDeletepatience man on finding a good house and sort the bills quickly. you don't want the bank on your ass when you are not even staying in that place. ps. thanks for being the only one participating on my little game in my blog.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks about the home and your credit, etc. I've been divorced for 6 years and STILL suffering repercussions bc of my ex.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! Happy HNT :)
Shit sucksssss.
ReplyDeleteYou will get through it all without a hair missing on your head homie! Don't stress and have the faith, you will bounce back trust me I know this!
ReplyDeleteHey Love - Voted for you :o)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were married before this! lol.. it is unfortunate that you all got a divorce and you're still suffering. BOOO @ BITCHY ASS WOMEN!

ReplyDeleteThat's horrible and unfair!
ReplyDeleteGotta watch out for them females mate.
ReplyDeleteSome can be pretty tricky
MAN-BEAR-PIG!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe US has the most brutal credit system in the world. Just about every other country has consumer protection laws that require a creditor to take you to court before they can ding you. Sux. On the upshot, though, you're still a free man!
ReplyDeleteAw man, sorry about the divorce, but seriosuly, you need to get on with your life if you ask me!

ReplyDeleteAs a condition of our divorce, I signed a "Quit Claim" giving my EX total custody of our 150 year old farmhouse and land, and in return she promised to refinance in her name ASAP. Seven years later she was missing payments, falling ever further behind, and as a result my credit rating went down the tubes. I couldn't even call the bank to see how MY loan was doing, because I'd been written off as "no longer the primary loan holder", so not only was I not able to clear my name, I couldn't even see how badly my name was being mangled.
ReplyDeleteThe house burned to the ground in year eight, while I was at work, no one was hurt, and the insurance company paid off the loan. While I was at work is important to remember. The kids took credit for accidentally playing with a candle and torching the place during the night, so no one came knocking with questions.
I truly know every verse to the song you're singing. by heart.
Man that sucks :(
ReplyDeleteI hate financial issues.
That sucks about the divorce. I've only had one friend go through it, and it was a girl. They never bought a house together or anything fancy like that, but she tried to be nice. He cheated on her, but kept refusing to sign the papers, fucking up her life so she couldn't get the credit to go to college.
ReplyDeleteThe whole shit is mess and I don't plan on getting married for at least another 5 years.
Nice photo. Really sucks those credit problems when you want to move forward. Voted for you =D
ReplyDeleteHang in there man! I understand the trouble.
ReplyDeleteAnyway great blog, I'll be following
